Photoshop: History Brush

What Is The History Brush In Photoshop

Okay, this is a weird concept to understand to start with but after a couple of attempts makes a whole lot of sense!

The history brush in Photoshop is a way to retain all the changes you made but allow you to undo parts of the image back to a previous state. Sounds confusing??? I dont blame you it blew my mind a few times I can tell you!

Simply put its another form of undo/redo on your image but its selective. In the video you will see an image which is all over the place when it comes to brightness. I adjust the image to be darker but as a result the mountains look too dark.

Most people would click on undo and start over in Photoshop. If thats you were talking about, then boy are you in for a big surprise! Instead what you can do is keep the change and selectivly undo the mountains!!

To understand further please watch this video…

There is no video which discusses lens bluring, however there is a video which discusses reducing lend blur and sharpening of images. This video is in the intermediate section called “Sharpening Images A Better Way”. This does un-destructive edits on the image thus leaving the base image alon whereas the normal sharpen tools alter the base image.
