SSRS: Sorting

Part of Microsoft Reporting Services Basics

sql SSRS: SortingSSRS: Sorting In A Report

Reporting Services (SSRS) Sorting

You have a shiny new report that your users can now interrogate with parameters (shown in previous video), its interactive now, but there is something missing…..

The user will always wants to sort the results into an order of their choosing so they can quickly read what they are after. Sorting in SSRS can be done in a variety of ways; SQL, On the Table/Tablix object and by the “Interactive Sort” option.

This video will explain all the areas where sorting can be applied in SSRS.  Sorting is a relativley simple process to setup and provides the user a wealth of control over a structured report, where possible you will want to give the user the most control possible as this will help reduce them coming back to you asking for changes.

This video is one of many SSRS video tutorials on this site click here for more.
